I'm hosting a summer party at the shop this August. Join me Thursday, August 10th in the evening for a little art, a little music and a little mingling with friends and neighbors.

This evening I'm pleased to welcome back Jamaica Plain artist Anna Koon. She will bring with her a collection of her small original contemporary art blocks. Many of you know her work from my shop or JP Open Studios. If you're unfamiliar with her work, I recommend you come down. Anna creates colorful, playful images of birds, bees, and fauna. Her canvas is scraps of wood that she purchases from a local furniture maker.

Also, I'm excited to welcome Roslindale musician and author Terry Kitchen to BSHG. Terry, a singer-songwriter, will entertain us from his catalog of original folk songs. If you attend the Farmers Market, there is a good chance you've heard Terry perform. I, of course, am always in the shop on Saturdays. So, I'm looking forward to our concert.

Finally, I will have a selection of craft beers and wines on hand for you to sample, along with some nibbles. And, if this isn't enough of a lure, I will donate a percentageof sales from the evening to the Mass Audubon Society's Boston Nature Center. So please, mark your calandars and come join the party.
