Job Description:

As Birch St. House & Garden’s Assistant Store Manager, you will provide a friendly and welcoming shopping experience for our customers. Love and emulate the BSHG brand, and take on some of the operational duties of the store owner. This includes opening and closing the store, making sure inventory deliveries are processed in the BSHG inventory systems and added to the sales floor, and that the store is fully stocked. You can expect to work about 10 to 15 hours a week, with the possibility of working more hours during the holidays.  You must be available both weekdays and weekends.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Retail Sales - assist customers, provide a personalized customer experience, give honest feedback regarding product, have a strong knowledge of inventory

  • Inventory Receiving / Management - receive deliveries and enter new and reordered inventory into BSHG’s POS back office

  • Merchandising - be proficient in retail display, design and configuration

  • Maintain store supplies, including bags, tissue, cleaning supplies, etc.

  • Lead by example and contribute to a culture of a welcoming and friendly space for all to shop

Job Requirements:

  • At least 2 years of retail experience

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Maintain sales floor, including merchandising and restocking inventory

  • Help lead team meetings

  • Develop and maintain customer relationships

  • Actively move around store and be accessible to customers

  • Communicate customer feedback and sales trends to store owner

  • Computer literate with ability to learn new systems quickly

  • Physical ability to move and lift incoming shipments of product

  • Ability to work varied hours/days, including weekends
