Located on the corners of South and Birch Streets, new customers often ask how we got our name.

It all started In the fall of 2001, when store founder Erin Brayton opened 18 Birch, located in the middle of Birch Street. With a strong background in the crafts world and a love for gardening, Erin brought a unique flavor to the home and garden gift store. In 2006, the she relocated to the corner of Birch and South Streets and changed the name to Birch St. House & Garden.

Today Birch St. House & Garden is owned by Elizabeth Swanson, who worked part-time at the store for six years prior to taking ownership in November 2008.

"From the start I knew this was just the place for me. Today, I'm thrilled to be fulfilling my dream of owning a gift store in my neighborhood. The best part of my day is helping a customer pick out the perfect gift and then packaging it up beautifully," says Elizabeth.

Birch St. House & Garden offers one-stop gift shopping for people on the go. Come see the accent furniture pieces at great value, candles, garden accessories, wall decor, jewelry, housewares, bath and body specialties, toys, baby gifts, handbags, table linens, garden accents, gift cards, and so much more.

Elizabeth is committed to mixing locally made items and fair trade products from around the world into the store's ever changing inventory. Additionally, many product lines can be special ordered, so if you don't see what you want, just ask.

So, welcome to Birch St. House & Garden.
