Join me in welcoming Mattapan resident Roqia Bibi to Birch St. House & Garden. For nearly 10 years, Roqia has been crocheting beautiful dresses, hats and more.
She first learned to crochet while in school in Pakistan. Roqia and her family moved to the US in 2014.
"I started to crochet when I was 14. My classmate showed me how to crochet, and my aunt helped me too. I made my first crocheted dress for my cousin's 2-year-old daughter. When she saw it, she was very happy and this made me feel happy too. I love to create new crocheted designs." - Roqia
Roqia Bibi is an ESOL student at the ABCD Mattapan Family Service Center.
